THE ONE-ACT PLAY THAT GOES WRONG
August 8-24, 2025

Comedy/Farce, Rated PG

Fresh from hits such as The Lion and The Wardrobe, Cat, and James and the Peach, the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society has received a substantial bequest and is putting on a performance of The Murder at Haversham Manor – a 1920s murder mystery play, similar to The Mousetrap, which has the right number of parts for its members. During the performance, a plethora of disasters befalls the actors and comedy and chaos ensues.

ROCK OF AGES
September 26-October 12, 2025

Musical, Rated PG-13 (Adult Language and Situations)

Rock of Ages a musical set on the Sunset Strip in 1987, following the story of a small-town girl and a city boy who meet while chasing their rock ‘n’ roll dreams. It is a big, brash, energetic tribute to classic rock, to over-the-top ballads and fierce guitar, to the gritty glamour and rough energy of the Sunset Strip. This jukebox musical features ‘80s hits such as “We Built this City”, “I Wanna Rock”, and “Don’t Stop Believin’”.

IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE – A LIVE RADIO PLAY
November 7-23, 2025

Drama, Rated G

This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers what life would have been like if he had never existed one fateful Christmas Eve. Five actors perform the dozens of characters in the radio play as well as produce the sound effects.

ON GOLDEN POND
January 16-February 1, 2026

Norman and Ethel Thayer, an aging couple, return to their vacation home on Golden Pond for the 48th summer. Norman, nearing eighty and showing signs of dementia, is challenged by his failing memory, while Ethel, ten years younger, embraces the small joys of their long life together. Their daughter, Chelsea, her fiancé, and his teenage son arrive, sparking a complex dynamic between generations and a renewed sense of connection.

THE FULL MONTY

The Full Monty follows the fortunes of six unemployed steelworkers in Buffalo, New York. With no job, money or prospects, they are fed up. When the men spy their wives and other local women going crazy over a group of male strippers, an idea begins to emerge. Overcoming their jealousy and feelings of emasculation, they decide to make some quick cash by forming their own act–a team of male strippers with ‘real man’ bodies.

Flushed by their successes, the Dramatic Society are poised to conquer yet another dramatic idiom: their current production sails the luxury ocean liner SS Farndale Avenue into the world of thirties musical comedy. Circumstances threaten to wreck the evening’s entertainment but the ladies and Gordon, in true Farndale form, soar above such mundane matters to present some catchy numbers and a stunning underwater sequence!
